Salted caramel STUDIO
Experience changes how you see a problem.
After nearly three decades working across design, communication, branding and location-based experiences, one lesson continues to shape every project: The solution is rarely found by rushing toward the output.
It comes from understanding the challenge, recognising the opportunity and establishing the right creative direction before the work takes form.
SCstudio brings experienced creative thinking directly into every project.
Clear thinking.
Strong ideas.
Experienced creative direction.
A creative studio built from experienced thinking. SCstudio is an independent creative studio led by Creative Director Dave White. The studio works with businesses, brands and ambitious project teams to clarify complex challenges, develop compelling ideas and transform them into meaningful creative outcomes. Projects may involve positioning, brand identity, communication, digital experiences, environments or entirely new concepts. The medium may change. The role remains consistent: To understand what the project truly needs and help create the strongest way forward.
The perspective behind the studio
Design was the beginning.
SCstudio’s perspective is grounded in graphic design, with its foundations formed within the exhibitions and events industry.
This early experience placed design in a much wider context.
The work was not simply about creating individual pieces of communication. It involved understanding how brands appear in physical spaces, how audiences move through experiences and how ideas remain coherent across many different touchpoints.
This included major projects for organisations such as:
Ford · Holden · Honda · Qantas · Telstra · ANZ
These projects established a foundation in brand communication, environmental design and the practical realities of bringing creative work into the world.
Creating entertainment destinations
From story to guest experience
In recent years, this experience has extended into the gaming and entertainment districts of Qiddiya, the major entertainment and tourism development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Working within multidisciplinary international teams, the creative role has involved helping protect and develop the vision across large-scale location-based entertainment projects.
This includes considering:
The story being told.
The world being created.
The journey through the experience.
The moments guests will remember.
The relationship between vision, design and delivery.
Projects of this scale involve many teams, disciplines and competing requirements. The creative challenge is not simply generating ideas. It is maintaining clarity and cohesion as those ideas move through development.
What this experience brings to the studio
A broader, global view of creative work.
SCstudio combines the precision of graphic design with the broader perspective of creative direction and experience design.
That means a brand is not considered only as a logo.
A website is not treated only as a digital layout.
An environment is not approached only as a physical space.
Each is understood as part of a larger system of meaning, communication and experience.
This broader perspective helps uncover connections that might otherwise be missed.
It also helps ensure that strategy, story, identity and execution feel like parts of the same idea.
strategic creative thinking
The thinking remains connected to the work.
SCstudio is intentionally structured around direct senior involvement.
The strategic thinking is not handed to one team and the creative development to another.
The same experienced perspective remains present from the earliest conversations through to creative direction, design development and implementation.
This creates continuity across the project.
The original challenge remains visible.
The central idea remains protected.
The creative decisions remain connected.
Where a project requires additional specialist capability, SCstudio brings together trusted collaborators across strategy, writing, digital, animation, visualisation, architecture, interiors and production.
The studio expands around the needs of the project rather than forcing the project through a fixed agency structure.
our approach
Clarity. Possibility. Transformation.
The SCstudio approach is built around three connected stages.
Clarity
Understand what is really happening. Define the challenge, identify what matters and establish a clear direction before significant creative or financial investment begins.
Possibility
Explore what the project could become. Develop the central idea, challenge expected answers and make new opportunities visible and believable.
Transformation
Turn the thinking into something real. Create the identity, communication, environment or experience required to move the project forward.
This is not a rigid formula. It is a way of ensuring the work begins in the right place and develops with purpose.
projects
A studio comfortable at different scales.
SCstudio works across projects of very different sizes and contexts.
A project might involve clarifying the position of an established Australian business.
It might require creating a brand and digital presence for a new venture.
It might involve developing the story and guest experience for a large international entertainment destination.
The scale may change, but the same questions remain important: What is the real opportunity? What needs to become clearer? What is the strongest idea? How should people experience it? What will make the outcome meaningful and memorable?

The studio philosophy
Creative work strives to make things clearer.
It strives to help a business understand itself more clearly.
It strives to help an audience understand why something matters.
It strives to help a team see where a project is going.
It strives to create enough confidence for the next decision to be made.
The outcome may be simple or spectacular.
What matters is that it is right for the project.
Creative thinking should not add noise.
It should reveal what matters.
creative thinking and design for what comes next.
